Together to guitar player Mr. Mad Ray, already known from the TRASHVIDEOS, and drummer Coba Kopalko, the band presented their first live performance ever on stage at the well known english festival . The band has been supported by studio musicians Luca Gambrella (bass) and Clemens van den Ost (guitar).

Oli: "We were offered this unique opportunity to performe one song in a break of two of the festival`s headliners. So we flew to the uk with our guitars in hand only. They gave us 5 minutes for the soundcheck and later in the evening when we came on stage, we were standing in front of a huge crowd of people (around 8000). We started to play immediatley - without thinking about the situation - when I presented TRASHINME to the audience, they started to give us an immense support. That was really incredible. But honestly, they were not TRASHINME fans, they were just really kind to all the bands playing that night. Great experience"

Shooting "Der gelbe Satin" with RED in 4K for a 4K-DI o be printed on Kodak Premiere
Oli: "while I was preparing the picture, my goal was to reach a cost efficient but technical work flow, which could give us the widest range of artistic possibilities. So I proposed the following WF to the producers: shooting in RED/4K RAW / offlineediting in FCP/2K / color timing and batching in speegrade xr back to 4K / lasering to masternegativ in 4K and printing to premiere. They agreed. We`ve already shot the first 4K RED-feature in germany for the big screen"
Oli: "if you want to get the best out of the RED, forget the way you were used to light...

...I`ve tested the RED extensively and read a lot of statements from other DP`s who all have different experiences with the cam. It all depends on what you`re going for to get in the end. If you do a job for the TV screen there are more possibilities to recover probably errors done while shooting because you don`t see them on the small screen in downconverted versions, unless they are really heavy. With a careful taken CC you still can get acceptable results - but we are doing the first 4K DI for a feature shot with RED in germany, and me as the responsible DP don`t want to see any kind of noise on either side of the curve. I want to get the best out of it: no noise in the blacks, no clipping in the highlights. To acchieve it, I have an exposure range of 4 stops, that`s all. I have to light all scenes in low contrast ratio in order to get enough details in the blacks and cut the whites before they reach the clip. RAW doesn`t react like film, it directly falls off after reaching the limits and you don`t have any more detail in it. Obviously the lighting becomes a bit frustrating because of its flatness. I will control the whole post workflow and the CC to reach the look I had in mind while reading the book for the first time."
As the "italian vagabound" in "Der gelbe Satin"
